Newsletter Competition 2008
The closing date for entries was Friday 4th April 2008.
Last years competition was highly successful and we are pleased to be able to run the competition again this year.
Even if you have just become an editor or have started a new publication, there is every reason for you to join in the fun of the competition. You never know what might be special in your newsletter that catches the judges' eyes.
We realise that the balance of content between church magazines and community newsletters is different, and we will take this into account together with other factors when judging.
The number of copies printed is normally a reflection on the resources available to producing your publication. We will try to divide the entries by circulation to provide approximately equal numbers in each division and judge as fairly as we can. Past competitions have shown that this reflects the main types of publications, their budgets and the ways in which they are produced.
Everyone regards feedback from the competition as being very important. The panel of experts will look at every publication and we'll do our best to make sure that their comments are passed back to you. We know how valuable this impartial advice is to you, especially when it helps improve your publication.
What the judges look for in your newsletter:
- Is it informative?
- Does it cater to a wide selection of the community or congregation?
- Does it cover a wide range of activities of the readership?
- Is the publication clearly printed and easy to read?
- Is the cover appealing and enticing you to read on or just take a glance?
- Is it well laid out?
- How is advertising (where applicable) used and presented?
Website re-launch
The Notts News website will be re-launched at the end of May 2008.

Notts News 2008 AGM and Newsletter Competition 2008 prizegiving
The 2008 Notts News AGM will be held on 10th September 2008 in Oxton Village Hall. Please arrive from 6:30 pm for a 7:00 pm start. The AGM will last until 9:30 pm.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served. The winners of the 2008 newsletter competition will be announced at this meeting and the prizes awarded.
